Change your password
On the web
If you're using the web app in a browser:
- Click your profile picture (top-right) → "Account settings".
- Click "Change password".
- Enter your new password twice, then your current password to confirm, and click "Change".
Passwords must be at least 8 characters and contain at least 3 of the following: upper case (A-Z), lower case (a-z), number (0-9), special character (e.g. !@#$%^&*).
Changing your password also signs out any other device using your account within about a minute — useful if you think someone else has access.
On the mobile app (iOS & Android)
Password changes aren't available in the mobile app — log in at app.studystream.live in a browser and follow the web steps above.
Forgot your current password? Use "Forgot Password?" on the login screen instead — see: Trouble logging in?
If you use Google, Facebook or Apple to log in
Social-login accounts don't have a StudyStream password — your login is managed by Google, Facebook, or Apple, so there's nothing to change on our side.
Enable two-factor authentication (recommended)
On the web, click your profile picture (top-right) → "Account settings" → "Two-factor authentication". Use an app such as Authy, 1Password, or Google Authenticator: scan the QR code, enter the 6-digit code, and save your recovery codes somewhere safe — each recovery code can be used once if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Think someone else has access to your account?
- Change your password right away using the web steps above — this also signs every other device out of your account within about a minute, so whoever got in is locked out.
- Review your privacy settings — on the web: click your profile picture (top-right) → "Privacy settings" — and check nothing was changed.
- Enable two-factor authentication (see above) so a password alone isn't enough to get in.
If you can't log in anymore, reset your password from the login screen with "Forgot Password?" (see: Trouble logging in?), or start a chat with us at app.studystream.live (no login needed).
Change the email address on your account
If you're still completing email verification, you can change the address yourself: on the verification screen, choose "Change email", enter the new address, and verify it with the new code.
After that, email changes are handled by our support team. Start a chat with us at app.studystream.live or in the StudyStream app:
- Logged in? Your account is verified automatically — just tell us the new email address you'd like to use.
- Can't log in? Start the chat anyway — it works without logging in. To confirm it's you, include your first name, last name, and display name, the email address currently on the account, and the new address you'd like to use.
Once verified, we'll update it and let you know.
Lost access to your old email address?
We can still help — start a chat with us at app.studystream.live or in the StudyStream app with the details above. If we can't verify you from those, we may ask for additional proof that the account is yours.
